EdPrograms at the International ACAC Conference!
Umair Khan, our Director & Founder, solo manned a table for EdPrograms at the International ACAC Conference at Albuquerque, New Mexico. The organization facilitates a global interaction amongst counselors and institutions for a higher transition for education across the globe.
Our EdPrograms’ table offered quirky and colorful luggage tags and staple Pakistani snacks like Cocomo! We even offered a Lucky Draw for counselors who left their emails at our table, it was a riot.
Although, EdPrograms might have gotten some help during the exhibition, oops.
CampEd U.S. East Coast student cohort had a haunted building scare - turns out it was just them having fun!
CampEd U.S. Summer programs always bring the best memories. In the summer of 2022, EdPrograms and the student cohort went to New York, Boston, and Connecticut to visit several U.S. universities – including Harvard, MIT, Columbia, Yale, Siena, Stony Brook, Merrimack, and many more!
Accompanied by one counselor and our Director, the cohort explored the streets of the U.S., went to a space observatory, amusement parks, got to taste different cuisines, and met with robots. There was the slightly haunted building moment, which was later discovered, the students just having fun around their campus accommodations! The highlight was the mobilized robot race that the students thoroughly enjoyed. Students were able to explore non-mainstream areas of study and got acquainted with the numerous opportunities that are available to them.
CampEd programs specializes in providing the opportunity for students to explore dynamic subjects that they wouldn’t have had exposure to otherwise; hence, increasing their soft skills, experiential learning, out-of-the-box thinking, and confidence.
We have two CampEd summer programs lined up for the U.S. for 2023. Join us for CampEd Midwest 2023 and CampEd East Coast 2023, to explore the U.S. and its universities for all its glory.
Panther Cage Competition, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa, transformed students into entrepreneurs
CampEd Virtual Edition – Summer 2022 commenced simultaneously with our Turkey program in June 2022. When our Turkey cohort, along with our Director – Umair Khan were enjoying the Istanbul charm, students who joined the CampEd Virtual Edition created magic with their entrepreneurial skills at the Panther Cage Competition.
The University of Northern Iowa hosted a competition similar to the popular TV show – Shark Tank, where students were put into groups and provided a mentor from UNI, and given a week or so to prepare and pitch their ideas to the judges from UNI since 2020 when the world went into lockdown.
CampEd Virtual Edition was born out of necessity due to the pandemic and has surprisingly shocked us with the creativity students and university representatives and mentors were capable of even though we were limited to our zoom meetings. It proves to us time and time again that creativity and fun learning does not have any boundaries. We assure you we haven’t seen any students snoozing.
From an environmentally responsible cosmetics brand – Ienour, to a culturally inclusive toy company introducing Three Bahadurs and Burka Avenger, and lastly, to a traditionally loved Pakistani eatery, The Tandoors; our student cohort collaborated and pitched amazing entrepreneurial ideas that blew our mind!
A Group of students were mentored for two weeks by a university mentor each and were able to create original, dynamic, and creative pitches that fit the criteria provided by UNI. All three teams were given awards.
It’s a wrap for EdTour South Asia Fall 2022
The EdTour, a university recruitment tour, is for higher educational institutions (HEIs) interested in recruiting international students from South Asia and beyond. EdTour began in 2012, we have successfully arranged 18 U.S. university tours since then, and have brought in 40+ HEIs.
EdPrograms successfully hosted EdTour South Asia Fall 2022 with 22+ university representatives from the U.S. The representatives visited high schools and colleges in Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan!
In Nepal, we visited 7 schools and colleges, with one college fair in Kathmandu, with 2200 student attendees. In Bangladesh, we visited 8 schools and colleges, and one college fair with combined 4000+ student turnout for the Dhaka tour. It was our first time visiting Nepal and Bangladesh and the overwhelming response from students has got us thinking of visiting the countries again in the next EdTour.
The EdTour South Asia, Pakistan chapter was a week-long tour of 3 cities. We visited 21 colleges in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. We had a massive student turnout of 4000+. As part of the EdTour, counselor socials were organized in each city for counselors and U.S. university representatives to network.
We are coming back very soon with our EdTour Pakistan Fall 2022, see you then!
We were back again in November for EdTour Pakistan Fall 2022!
In November, EdTour returned for a second round of university recruitment tour. We had 7 great universities join us this time, which includes 1 Turkish University. As usual, we started our tour in Karachi before moving on to Lahore. For the first time, we stopped at Faisalabad for a whole day before continuing on to our final destination, Islamabad.
We visited over 20 schools & colleges across these cities, and were able to interact with 5000+ students this time around. This EdTour we introduced something new to the table – we conducted Mock Application Workshops during all our Counselor Socials, and even introduced Panel Style Discussion in some schools. It was a great success as counselors were not only able to network with University Representatives but were also able to get a better understanding of the different application procedures used by the universities.
We had a memorable journey, filled with unexpected challenges, cultural exchange, delicious food and twice the fun!
Expect us again soon, this January!
Our 5th EdTour - Virtual Edition Success!
The 5th Edition of our EdTour – Virtual Edition was a success. Our two day event, for Undergraduates and Graduates, was attended by 20+ Universities and had student attendees from all over the world, like Nepal, Bangladesh, Morocco, Australia, and Pakistan.
An estimated 400 students combined attended the events, where students were able to join a table designated to a University and ask their queries directly to the University Representative present. Some of the universities that were able to join us in this event were Michigan State University, Binghamton University, College of Central Florida, California State University (Chico), Concordia College, Habib University, and LUMS. We are proud to call it – our best EdTour – Virtual Edition yet.
Counselor’s time to enjoy - at the Counselors Tour in MAY 2023!
Work, Travel, and Fun for all counselors:
Counselors are the first point of contact for students. They are in regular discussions with students regarding their university applications. They are the ones who facilitate the application process and guide them along the way until submission. EdPrograms have met with excellent counselors during our EdTours and CampEds. Counselors have shared their concerns regarding the roadblocks they feel come their way during counseling students. To provide them with better tools, exposure, and understanding of the admissions team’s perspective of universities, We are hosting a Counselors Tour in May of 2023 to Washington, California, and Arizona. It will consist of counselor conferences and focus group sessions on student admissions and university requirements at different universities. The best part will be that there will be no students, it will be exclusive for the counselors where they can reflect on last year, share their best practices, and come up with solutions to the problems faced together. It will be a well-deserved break for all counselors!
Hope to see you soon.
