Why The EdTour?
Welcome to EdTour East Africa Fall 2025, an immersive educational journey through the heart of Africa! Our sixth EdTour (since 2023) in this thriving continent. Explore the breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and incredible wildlife of five captivating countries: Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
Be ready to meet students, parents, and high school counselors across East Africa. Our tours offer a mix of school/university visits, and networking events with students, parents, and high school counselors. Mini College Fairs in some countries will be organized in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy and Education USA.
Apart from meeting quality students, a lot of fun activities are planned throughout the tour. EdTour is run by a group of foodies so make sure you come hungry and join us on a culinary journey across the African continent!
Why EdTour - East Africa?
- According to Open Doors 2023/24, the total number of students studying in the U.S. from Rwanda:1,311, Uganda: 1,303, Kenya: 4059, Tanzania:1,027 and Ethiopia: 3,078.
- Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most-populous continent with 1.2 billion people making it 16% of the world’s population.
- More than 60% of Africa’s population is under the age of 25. By 2030, young Africans are expected to constitute 42% of the global youth population.
- Rwanda’s economy grew by an average of 8.2% in 2022-2023 and achieved a 9.7% growth rate in the first half of 2024
- Over the last ten years, Uganda’s economy has risen at an average annual pace of 5–6%, and in the upcoming years, it is expected to increase by 9%.

Undergraduate Admissions Representatives

- Visit 4-8 high schools in each city in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
- Network with high school counselors through our Counselor Socials.
- Meet students/parents during events hosted at various schools.
- Mini College Fairs, in collaboration with EducationUSA (tentative).

Sightseeing/Other Activities
- Learn about Rwanda’s history and its remarkable journey of reconciliation and resilience.
- A unique wildlife just outside Nairobi, where you can see lions, giraffes, and rhinos with a city skyline in the background.
- Explore Uganda’s vibrant capital, including the Kasubi Tombs, Bahai Temple, and local markets.
- Discover Ethiopia’s vibrant capital, including the National Museum (home to Lucy) and Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market.

**Although Hotel and Visa fees are not included in the tour cost; we will facilitate our tour participants negotiated corporate rates for the hotels. Any documentation needed for the visa shall be provided by EdPrograms.
Eligibility Requirements
- This tour is open to accredited higher education institutions only.
- Institutions must be two-year, four-year, and graduate degree-granting institutions
- Tour participants need to be full-time admissions employees of the participating institution
- Alumni and recruitment agents can not represent the registered institution on our tours
- Universities will be reviewed by the advisory board in case of exceeding tour capacity
- Participating Institutions must adhere to the NAFSA’s Statement of Ethical Principles
